I Ching 12 – Obstruction

Today’s I Ching – 12 – Obstruction

Heaven above. Earth below.

Obstruction follows Tranquility.

Spirit explains:

Tranquility  suggests calm seas and a gentle breeze.

Whatever obstruction was in the past in not now.

Storms have blown themselves out or away.

This is a time of peace and yet  we know that other storms

Will surely come. They are part of what Life is, experience,

And serve to teach us strengths, and inform us of

Our weaknesses.

Hang in there?

Yes.

I Ching 18 – Degeneration

Today’s I Ching – 18 – Degeneration

Mountain above. Wind below.

Degeneration follows Following.

Spirit explains:

Degeneration suggests decay. In the relationship

Between those who follow and those who lead,

Morale is low, as when one loses faith in her

Teacher.

What can be done if it is as it is?

She could pretend it was otherwise.

You would know.

Yes.

I Ching 20 – Observing

Today’s I Ching – 20 – Observing

Wind above. Earth below.

Observing follows Overseeing.

Spirit explains:

Observing is paying attention to what is happening –

Being aware. Overseeing is assuming a position of

Supervision, with or without paying close attention to

Whatever or whomever one has been entrusted to

Supervise.

The message?

Both observe and oversee suggest separation from

What or whom is observed or overseen.

Are you directing me?

No.

Then what?

I am sharing my way until it becomes our way, and

It will, for, in essence, it always was.

I Ching – 50 – The Cauldron

Today’ I Ching – 50 – The Cauldron

Fire above. Wind below.

The Cauldron follows Revolution.

Spirit Explains:

Whatever is heated is usually made more pliable

Than it was before being heated. Revolutions

Change the civic and political structures of

Society that may not of themselves change.

What can this reading mean in my spiritual journey?

Conditioned thinking does not change on its own.

I Ching 30 – Clinging

Today’s I Ching – 30 – Clinging

Fire above. Fire below.

Clinging follows Double Pitfall.

Spirit explains:

Double Pitfall expresses extreme danger. Be aware, but,

Have faith in yourself, if in no other. And, in essence,

Each of us contains and is contained within all others.

Clinging is double fire, as is the passion of faith and purpose.

Does the message suggest confrontation?

Yes and no.

Please explain.

Confrontation can only be possible if we see it.

Close my eyes?

No. Open them.

I Ching 41 – Reduction

Today’s I Ching – 41 – Reduction

Mountain above. Lake below.

Reduction follows Solution.

Spirit explains:

Solution suggests successful resolution of a challenge.

Reduction is less, and less of anything requires

That there be more of something else.

Less stress and more rest?

No.

Then what?

Less creation of stress allows for more focus on

Our way of life.

I Ching 57 – Wind

Today’s I Ching – 57 – Wind

Wind above, Wind below.

Wind follows Travel.

Spirit explains:

Wind travels and so do we. The difference can be,

But not necessarily is, that outside forces

Always determine when and where

The wind travels, and how quickly.

Self-determination?

What about it?

Does it exist?

No.

I Ching 23 – Stripping Away

Today’s I Ching – 23 – Stripping away

Stripping Away follows Adornment

Spirit explains:

Words of love can be sincere or as a glossy book cover that

May or may not describe the inner story.

But, I protest, an appealing cover or title may attract my

Attention.

What would attract you more, the title or the cover?

Both together, more or less – design and words that

Express each other.

So it is with our way of life.

How?

Our lifestyle habits express our inner life well,

Or they do not. It’s as simple as that.

.

I Ching 9 – Small Development

Today’s I Ching – 9 – Small Development

Small Development follows Closeness.

Spirit explains:

Closeness suggests shared feelings, ideas, or goals, and

Something must develop when our personal energies

Blend with those of others or, even with those of one other.

Small developments are the seeds of greater developments,

If they are nourished and protected.

How to protect them, and from what?

With care, respect, dedication, and trust.

Trust in what?

Me.

And the what?

The unknown, which does not exist.

I Ching 16 – Delight

Today’s I Ching – 16 – Delight

Delight follows Humility.

Spirit explains:

Even if we possess much we can still feel humble.

To take delight in what we are blessed with and

Still feel humble expresses contentment.

Possessions of themselves cannot bring pleasure

Unless we possess what we value.

The message?

What do you value?
