There is a Place For Everyone in an Ideal Community

Spirit shares I Ching Wisdom.

Today’s I Ching situation is 10 – Treading.

Treading follows Small Development and
Leads to Tranquility.

Small Development refers to building
community with others.

This is not possible without each member
understanding and accepting certain rules
of relating to others within the community.

We share responsibilities and work
according to our individual nature and
abilities, and yet everyone requires
a sense of dignity and self respect,
knowing she or he is valued for whom
they are and for their contribution
to the harmony and productivity of
the group.

Treading is the outcome of resisting
the temptation to focus on doing
our own thing, but choosing to serve
our unique role within the community.

How could one relate to oneself in such
a community?

In what way?

Surely we each need to develop our own
ideas and create our own vision
of what and who we want to become.

It would require an awareness of how
those personal desires fit into and
serve the community, and how well
one’s energy resonates with the role
chosen by or for us. The role chooses
us as much as we choose the role.

But, what if I am well suited to
the role that somehow chose me,
and yet I prefer another?

Someone else may be doing what you
would prefer to do, so your service
in that role is not needed, whereas …

Duty?

Yes, but you could play the other role
in your spare time, as a hobby.

But, if I have a passion for
a certain role …

Then, perhaps Universal Laws would
consider that role for you,
at another time.

What Universal Law?

The Law of Attraction.

I thought that law attracted people

It does.

I mean specific people to specific
people.

It does that, too.

Then, where and how does it attract
me to a specific role within
a specific community?

You would be attracted to a community
in which you felt comfortable, or
tranquil, within.

And then I would seek to find how
I might contribute to that community?

Yes. If you are of no use to them,
then how could you feel valued?

What if I have no special skill
but I require assistance from
that community, for whatever reason?

Then your personal needs would provide
other members of the community with
an opportunity to express sharing and
caring for those who are unable or
less able to care for themselves, and
sharing and caring are forms of
applied love.

So, there is a place for everyone
in an ideal community?

Yes.

Unconditional love expresses care

A Spirit Teacher explains I Ching 9 – Small Development.

Small Development follows Closeness in the order of life experiences represented by the sixty-four hexagrams. The
exact number of personal life experiences necessarily varies
from individual to individual, but the reality that each
experience develops out of a previous one, does not.

Closeness expresses a sense of community with people, places,
or things; a feeling of attachment, connectedness, and
relationship.

Small Development suggests gradual and steady progress. Each
stage or step in our development of integrity, skill,
knowledge, or awareness builds on the step or stage we have
moved forward from.

Closeness, as an awareness of oneness with others, reminds
us that we are not alone. Both seen and unseen energies
share our progress and care for us with unconditional love.

Spirit’s I Ching 55 – Abundance

Spirit explains:

Abundance follows Marriage in the order of the Hexagrams.

Marriage is a special ceremony wherein two people declare their

Intentions to share with and care for each other, and accept

Responsibility to develop a long-term, mutually beneficial

Relationship.

It sounds good, so far. Where does abundance fit?

Two or more people working together can usually accomplish or

Create more of whatever, than any one person, alone. Working

Together also creates community. We were not designed to live

Completely independently.

Back to abundance. Couldn’t two or more, working together without

Harmony, and without too much effort, create an abundance of

Sorrow, as easily as, or as well as an abundance of pleasure

For each other?

That’s a chance we choose or choose not to take.

Spirit’s I Ching 19 – Overseeing

Spirit explains:

Overseeing follows Degeneration, and yet, overseeing suggests

Accepting responsibility for what is happening under your care, or

Lack of care.

The message?

What have you done?

About what?

About the mess in your world.

I didn’t do it.

What have you done to undo it?

What can I do?

Witness.

I do, but how can that help?

It is a beginning.

And then what?

Find and share a better way.

I Ching 9 – Small Development

Today’s I Ching – 9 – Small Development

Small Development follows Closeness.

Spirit explains:

Closeness suggests shared feelings, ideas, or goals, and

Something must develop when our personal energies

Blend with those of others or, even with those of one other.

Small developments are the seeds of greater developments,

If they are nourished and protected.

How to protect them, and from what?

With care, respect, dedication, and trust.

Trust in what?

Me.

And the what?

The unknown, which does not exist.

I Ching 47 – Exhaustion

Today’s I Ching – 47 – Exhaustion

Lake above

Water below

Exhaustion follows rising.

Spirit explains:

Tides rise and we each rise

Only as high as we care to,

Unless we care enough

To rise as high as we can.

Low tide rises to the least

Possible output, while high tide

Rises as high as it can,

To the point of exhaustion.

People are as the tides, with

Some caring enough to give

All that they possibly can.

Where am I?

Yes.
