What Happens Next?

A spirit teacher shares His I Ching wisdom with me.

Today’s focus is on the life situation expressed by
Hexagram 18 – Degeneration.

Mountain is over Wind. Yang is over Yin.

And yet, Wind is a restless yin, not easily …

Controlled?

Yes.

Mountain is steadfast. It doesn’t seek control.

It is blocking the way.

Wind is able to move around the mountain.

So, we can each stand firm, without intent to block
others, who can if they wish to, do their own thing
without our approval or co-operation?

Yes. We each are responsible to ourselves and to our
own higher purpose; to remain firm, without seeking
to direct others, who may choose to follow a path of
their own.

Why is such a situation described as degeneration?
This name seems to suggest …

The end of a period of growth?

Yes.

Because it is.

Then, where do we go from here?

From where?

From the end.

There is no end.

Okay. Then, what happens next?

We carry on.

We?

Yes, you and I.

And you’re the mountain?

Yes.

I Ching 61 – Sincerity in the Centre

Sincerity follows Discipline in the order of the Hexagrams.

Spirit explains:

Discipline, as self-control, and it is always self-control, for

Whatever reason, is not a value in itself. It is a means to an end.

What about Sincerity?

What about it?

Why does it follow Discipline?

It always follows Discipline.

Why?

If we are sincere in our intention to do or be whatever, then

Self-discipline must be followed.

I Ching 64 – Unsettled

Today’s I Ching – 64 – Unsettled

Fire above, Water below.

Unsettled follows Settled in the order of the Hexagrams.

Spirit explains:

Settled suggests an end of struggle.

A goal has been reached.

However, when one day ends,

Another begins. Hexagram 64

completes a series of events

And situations. Challenges

Have been faced and dealt with,

More or less. Now we are restless

To move on.

I interrupt. What about time out?

Spirit sighs at my simplicity.

There is no time out.
