The path seeks the seeker

Spirit shares I Ching wisdom.

51 – Thunder

Two masses of cool air move swiftly toward each other,
after lightning flashes through the sky. Neither mass
of air intends harm to the other. Each is simply
serving a Law of Nature. Gaps must be filled.
Equilibrium must be restored.

How does that observation …

It is more than an observation. It is a Law of Nature.

Then, how does this law apply to following a path or
seeking a path to enlightenment?

The path also seeks the seeker. They come together.
This is a Law of Life.

I Ching – 40 – Solution

Today’s I Ching – 40 – Solution

Thunder over Water

Solution follows Halting.

Spirit explains:

Halting suggests not moving, as a sailboat

On a lake, without a breeze.

Thunder stirs the air.

We need to make a noise?

Sometimes that’s the best solution.

Ask a child.

Spirit explains I Ching 62

Today’s I Ching – 62 – Small Excess – Thunder over Mountain.

Spirit asks me if we can walk through a mountain.

Only if someone blows a tunnel through it.

We will.

What mountain?

The mountain of our mind.

How is it like a mountain (and, yes, I know I’m walking

Into something);?

Seemingly solid, but really only dense.

A fog is not rock.

Today’s I Ching reading by Spirit

I Ching 55 – Abundance. Thunder is over Fire.

Spirit explains:

Thunder suggests an abundance of rain.

Fire suggests and abundance of light and heat.

Both thunder and fire create and are created by

Movement. Something changes. Something always changes.

Abundance expresses blessings far beyond survival needs.

Why do I not experience such a lifestyle?

You do.

I’m not aware of it.

Yes.

I Ching, 55, abundance, thunder, fire, abundance, rain, light, heat, create, movement, changes, blessings, beyond, survival, needs, Spirit, lifestyle, aware.

I Ching 52 – Mountain

Today’s I Ching – 52 – Mountain

Mountain above. Mountain below.

Mountain follows Thunder.

Spirit explains:

Thunder is caused by masses of air rushing together, after

Lightning has separated them, dividing one into two.

Mountains do not usually appear to move. They are

Generally stable.

We need both movement and stability, and wisdom,

To know which is appropriate, when, and why.

The message?

There is no need to hurry. “Haste makes waste”,

An old saying, because the wise ones have

Always known this.

I Ching 51 – Thunder

Spirit shares his understanding of I Ching 51 – Thunder

Thunder above, Thunder below.

Thunder follows Cauldron in the order of the Hexagrams.

The order of the Hexagrams expresses the Universal Law of Causality. Nothing comes from nothing. All situations develop from a previous situation. How they develop and what they develop into is not entirely predetermined. Free will and choice, as well as Destiny contribute to the outcome. How we choose can be the result of habit, or awareness and intent to develop our own way through life situations not necessarily of our own choosing.

The message?

Thunder is never silent.

I’m allowed to complain?

It seems to be in your nature to do so.

I Ching 39 – Halting

Today’s I Ching – 39 – Halting

Water above

Thunder below

Halting follows Disharmony in the

Order of the Hexagrams.

Is Spirit playing a game?

What game? The cards were

Well shuffled, and yet,

Today’s 39 goes back by one,

Yesterday’s 40, as if

Reversing the order of

Cause and effect, or,

To study the cause of

The cause.  This game

Could go back to

The beginning.

Spirit explains:

There never was and never will be

A beginning, and, the game goes on

Forever.

I Ching 40 – Solution

Today’s I Ching – 40 – Solution

Thunder above, Water below

Solution follows Halting in the order

Of the Hexagrams.

Spirit explains:

We only stop moving forward when

Someone or something

Prevents us from doing so.

However, halting is not forever

Unless we choose it to be so.

A rolling stone will stop

And settle, until some

Outside force moves it, but

Water, when it is flowing

Will not be stopped

So easily. It builds up

It’s strength to push forward

Or around whatever

Would block its way.

I do not ask Spirit to explain

What His reading says to me.

I don’t want to know.

Not today.

I’ve heard it all before.

I Ching 42 – Increase

Today’s I Ching – 42 – Increase

Wind above (first daughter)

Thunder below (first son)

To me it looks like a sibling war.

Increase follows Reduction in the order of the Hexagrams.

Spirit explains:

Oh, oh. Spirit seems aware of my thoughts. What thoughts? The cynical notion, idea that, perhaps, if   what you have has been reduced enough then the only way to go is up. Spirit seems to think that frugality and simplicity are sacred ways of living, even in the physical world. I disagree.

Now, to the reading.

Spirit is not impressed with my, perhaps, less than respectful observation, and tells me that there will be no reading.

A power trip?

Yes.

I Ching 62 – Small Excess

Today’s I Ching – 62 – Small Excess

Thunder above, Mountain below

Small Excess follows Sincerity in the Centre

Spirit explains:

Excess suggests more than an average amount
of whatever

Small Excess refers to a certain flexibility
between extremes of form and …

Spirit? I interrupt.

Spirit is not an extreme.

He continues, Sincerity in the Centre expresses
intention based on self-awareness.

Where am I?

Yes.
