What Universal Law(s) Apply to Awareness?

Spirit shares I Ching wisdom.

I Ching 12 – Obstruction, follows Tranquility.

Times of peace never last?

It is the nature of yin and yang to interact
with each other. The seasons, too, play
this game, as do day and night. The tides
rise high and then slip back only to rise
again, before …

Does it all go on forever?

What?

Up and down, in and out, win and lose.

The natural order provides a background
for all life to learn to adapt. It’s
a beginning.

A beginning of what?

Higher education.

What does higher education have
in common with tranquility and
obstruction?

We learn to reach high, while we can.

To make hay while the sun shines?

Exactly.

That sounds great …

But?

How can we advance beyond narrow …

Or shallow?

Yes. Limits were surely designed
to be expanded.

What limits?

The limits of human …

Why only human?

Then, of awareness, creativity,
imagination, and consciousness.

They have no limits.

Then, if universal laws apply …

And they do.

Then, what universal law or laws
apply to the expansion of
awareness, creativity, imagination,
and consciousness?

Cause and effect, karma, fate,
and destiny.

Each or all of them?

Each and all of them.

Karma is Different than Cause and Effect

Spirit explains I Ching 51 – Thunder

Thunder above and Thunder below, or
As above, so below.

Thunder makes a loud noise. It does not
present itself graciously or even politely.
but on its own terms, and in its own way,
forcefully, so as not to be ignored.

Why does it have to let the world know
that it’s here, when it is here.

Perhaps it is as a messenger being sent
from a high authority, to announce
an immanent arrival.

A storm?

Yes.

That makes sense, weather wise.

It makes sense and is a reality
in any situation.

How is it possible to be warned
ahead of time in situations of
emotional, social, political, or
environmental disasters?

It is a law of life or, as some
prefer, a universal law.

What law?

Causation, or Karma.

Are they both the same law?

Yes and no.

How do they differ?

Cause and effect are sequential.

And Karma?

It might bide its time or …

Or what?

We can change the way we think
and choose to live, and this would
then change our karma.

For better or worse?

Yes.

We can pretend not to see.

Spirit shares His understanding of the timeless wisdom of I Ching. Today’s lesson relates to the lived situation expressd by Hexagram 36 – Damage to Illumination.. Earth is over Fire; yin over yang. Damage to Illumination follows Advance (35), and leads to People in the Home (37).

“The Universal Law of Change is connected to but separate from other Universal Laws such as Karma. We have no power to prevent change for we are part of all that Is changing. We co-create, with all life, not what changes but how it and we change.

“Damage to Illumination expresses this Universal reality. We can  pretend not to see or accept even what we cannot honestly deny.”

“Why would we pretend not to see?”

“Perhaps for fear of being required to accept responsibility for an undeniable truth.”

“Such as?”

“That we each are part of what is, and we play a role in how it will develop. Did we Advance (35) too quickly, or too slowly, to see how it would affect our Family (37)?

“How can we ever know?”

“What?”

“Anything.”

“Experience.”\

“Isn’t there an easier way?”

“No.

Minor characters in a Universal story

A Spirit Teacher explains I Ching 28 – Great Surpassing.

Surpassing follows Nourishment for the simple reason that nourishment is necessary to sustain physical life, whereas Spirit is Self-sustaining.

Nourishment includes physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual necessities of well-being. This provides us with a foundation to develop beyond mere survival.

We each have a destiny that will greatly surpass anything we can imagine. The good news is that we have eternity to complete our mission. Physical lifetimes come and go, but we go on forever.

In the meantime?

We are each only a minor actor in a universal play, but, even so, we each have a role that only we can perform, once we learn what it is.

Then, to do all that we can is enough, for now. Others will come, or they will not. In any event the play goes on. It’s as simple as that.

We Find Our Own Level.

Spirit shares His understanding of I Ching wisdom as it relates to the life situation expressed in Hexagram 48 – The Well.

Water is over Wind; yin is over yang. The Well follows Exhaustion (47) in the continuous cycle of life experiences and leads to  Revolution (49).

Spirit explains:  The water level in a well is as the water level in the surrounding land. They rise and fall together, according to laws of Nature, which are Universal Laws.

Exhaustion suggests depletion; a need for recovery of energy, or whatever.  Neither water level nor exhaustion is a necessarily permanent condition.

The message?

You didn’t ask if the message was a personal one.

It usually is, even when it isn’t.

Yes.
