Waiting for an Answer

A spirit teacher shares His understanding of timeless wisdom
contained within the I Ching Hexagram 5 – Waiting.

Water is over Heaven. Both express yang energies; Heaven as
ultimate power, and Water as flowing downward to reach its
own comfort zone; its own level.

What is Heaven?

Heaven is Life.

But, there are many forms of life.

Heaven is beyond form.

Is it potential form?

It is potential.

Then, it can become …

What?

Whatever it might have the power to become?

It has the power of potential itself.

What does that mean?

Are you waiting?

Yes.

For what?

For an answer.

Yes.

Personal Ethics Direct our Traffic

Spirit shares His understanding of the life situation expressed in Hexagram  5 – Waiting.  Water is over Heaven; yin over yang. Waiting follows Immaturity (4) and leads to Contention (6).

“Waiting requires patience and firm resolve if one is choosing to wait for a more opportune moment before acting with intent. To set sail at high tide is to let the water move away from port with you – to go with the flow, if it is going your way.”

“That sounds ideal, if timing allows us the privilege to wait. And, also, there are some who seem to wait until someone or something makes decisions for them.”

“That can never be the case.”

“Why?”

“Personal ethics always direct our traffic.”

“How?”

“We are always personally responsible for the consequences of whatever we choose, and letting others choose for us is still choosing.”

“Is there no easy way out?”

“There is no way out.”

Immaturity waits for Contention

Today’s I Ching reading, for me, by Spirit. And, don’t ask me
What I did to deserve it. I don’t know.

Spirit explains: I Ching 5 – Waiting, develops from Immaturity and leads to Contention. Waiting suggests
Expectation of a future.

A future what?

Is the future a what?

Can we pretend that I didn’t ask?

It’s too late for that option.

Why?

Life moves forward and expands. It neither stops nor
undoes what has been done.

Then what or whom are we waiting for?

We are waiting for immaturity to meet contention and,
In the process, mature.

My immaturity?

Yes.

Spirit’s I Ching 6 – Contention

Spirit explains:

Contention follows Waiting in the order of the hexagrams.

Creative energy is above. Unstable emotion is below.

Contention expresses dissatisfaction with waiting. Change is

Wanted now, and unstable emotion could create unstable action.

Without change there is danger of stagnation.

What change? What action? By whom?, and for what, or whom?

By each of us, for all concerned, to be whom we are and not

Pretend to be otherwise.

What is it all about?

Living a good life.

I don’t understand.

Yes.

Today’ I Ching Reading by Spirit – 5 – Waiting

Waiting follows Immaturity in the order of the Hexagrams.

Spirit explains:

Immaturity doesn’t last forever. We learn and grown,

Each in our own time and in our own way.

Waiting until we are more prepared to face

Whatever challenges Life presents us with,

Doesn’t work.

We must live each day as we now are.

The message?

We develop maturity with intention and practice,

Not by waiting.

I Ching 6 – Contention

Today’s I Ching – 6 – Contention

Heaven above, Water below.

Contention follows Waiting in the order of the Hexagrams.

Spirit Explains:

For those with purpose, waiting is not an option.

When what we desire seems almost

Within our grasp, then we will

Confront and overcome, whatever

We must, and are able to,

To achieve our goal, and

With such intent, almost

All things are possible.

What is the message for you,

Chela, He asks me.

Fight the good fight

With all my might?

Yes.

I Ching 5 – Waiting

Today’s I Ching – 5 – Waiting

Water above, Heaven below

Waiting follows Immaturity in the order of the Hexagrams.

Spirit explains:

Immaturity is a necessary stage of growth

In all forms of life; including plants and people.

Farmers learn to recognize the stage of development of

Their plants and animals, and nourish them accordingly.

Teachers are as farmers in this respect.

I don’t ask what this reading says to me. He must think

That I am more mature than I feel.
